Antique Walnut Campaign Brass Bound Writing Box Measures 40 x 24 x 16 (height) cm Offered for sale an early nineteenth century writing box. Walnut case with inlaid brass shield form motif to the top. Matching decoration to the front escutcheon plate. Brass bound corners & sides. Top opens to writing slope with with black tooled leather surface. Compartments for inkwells & pens. Offered in good condition. Sound structure and a lovely mellow colour and patina to the wood. Crack to the top running horizontally. Few small marks to wood. Opening on original brass hinges, lock & key. Writing surface within with tape to the fold. Baize lining to underside.
