Vintage Bakelite Parker Baccyflap - Dark Brown Faux Tortoiseshell finish - Circa 1940's

A palm sized container for tobacco, it comprises two circular, domed halves which screw together, made by Parker Hardcastle in the 1940's it was advertised as an airtight and watertight container to keep tobacco in perfect condition. The base of the container has the Parker diamond logo which was adopted after the second World War. It is thought that the name 'Parker' refers to Parker Hardcastle Ltd. of Walthamstow. which was formed over decades by mergers and acquisitions between Parker, Hardcastle Pipe Co., and Dunhill.

Condition: Very good - complete - some minor wear associated with use - no cracks or bad scratches - screws together firmly - see all images for condition.

Dimensions:

3 1/2" Diameter x 1 3/8" deep

A now scarce example of a collectable bakelite tobacco holder which will be a great addition to any tobacciana collection.
