Bonsai Chrysanthemum Show Catalogue with records of Entries, Results & Organisers - Tokyo 1923

Show: 13th November 1923 Takanawa Tokyo

A paperback catalogue with many monochrome images of Bonsai Chrysanthemum which were part of a show which took place on 13th November 1923, which was only 2 months after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1st September 1923.

The catalogue is a record of the entries and results of the show and also details and images of the plants with lists of the growers.

There is what appears to be a page giving thanks to the organizers of the show which a Japanese friend has translated as best they could given the older Japanese text used, the details of this page are below.

"The Bonsai Show took place at Mr Mouri's Master Sergeant House at 9am on the 13th November 1923 Takanawa Tokyo"
"Although we had a terrible disaster recently, we are greatly appreciate many people participated the show. The co-ordinator Mr Nishiyama was not able to attend the show due to the accident".
"We greatly appreciate to Mr Maeda and Mr Nakayama took over Mr Nishiyama's work and they made a lot of effort to organise the show"

There are pages which have the names and address of Board Members (most members were from the East (Tokyo area).

Condition: Slight wear to covers - back cover slightly grubby - minor crease mark to centre of front cover - green silk cords in good strong condition - spine has some small tears with no loss - corners of front board slightly curled - text block firm - pages all a slightly age toned - good clean condition overall - see all images.

The translation given is the best that could be done and if there are any glaring mistakes then please contact me.
