Josiah Wood Whymper (1813 –1903) was an English wood-engraver, book illustrator and watercolourist.

Condition: Good - prints laid back to back on linen - paper slightly age toned with handling marks - some grubby with minor creases as per pictures - very strong because of the linen.

Dimensions: 13 3/16" high x 10 7/8" wide

The prints have been taken from a broken 19th century volume which had been put together with the prints laid back to back on linen which gives the buyer the choice of which print to display and has also given the paper prints added strength.

A great addition to any early collection of Natural History prints which have been hand coloured when published "Price 3/4d Plain; 2d Coloured".
