Original Reference book to accompany the folder published by Macmillan & Co. 1934
The reference book has a description for the scene in each plate.

The plates were used in schools in the 1930's as a teaching aid and as such many were lost or damaged whilst in use.

Condition: Very good - minor handling marks - crease marks to the first two plates to bottom right corner (which may be from another 1930's set) - the crease marks have been strengthened with archive quality tape to the back - three punch holes in the margins to these two - there are 169 remaining plates which have minor handling marks and a repair to the top right corner of plate 40 - the card folder is complete and firm with wear and some fraying to the covering - the plate index is complete - the reference book has minor wear with fading to the boards - the text block firm and clean with pages yellowing slightly - two previous owners names to inner front cover. Plates -15" wide x 10" high
Folder - 15 1/2" wide x 10 1/2" high x 2" thick
Book - 7 1/2" high x 5" wide x 1/4" thick

All plates have been counted and the following 11 plate numbers are missing: 14, 21, 68, 80, 142, 145, 148, 151, 164, 165 & 168. The reference book with the plates has a description of all the plates and the missing plates could be sourced over time.

A scarce near complete set of 1930's Macmillan's Class Pictures which have survived along with the original folder and book. There are a lot of lovely plates that would look great framed
