ICONIC Cold Painted ‘Diana the Huntress’ in Fantastic Original and Honest Condition.

From my own collection.

This superbly stylish table/mantle piece would have been produced In the 1930s.
   
 J. DAUVERGNE was one of the leaders in French Art Deco design, catching the mood of the decadent age, then pushing the, ART DECO fashion just that little bit further.

There where approximately 0ne hundred of Diana the Huntress casts produced, all cold painted in various colour combinations. Some quite..well..left to the eye of the beholder. This example one of the better ones, being more faithful to reproducing a bronze.
 
THE PLINTH
The plinth is wonderfully thick, the dark brown marble has a stepped plinth design. There is a stylish 3 tier Ziggurat shape mount which one deer springs from. The base is inlaid with complementing shades of yellow marble and is beautifully crafted.
Size nearly 3 ft long.
 
THE FIGURES
The central figure ‘Diana’ is a lovely colour of mixed bronze patina and crisp casting with fantastic detail and is really quite exquisite.
Diana s robe has particular fine cold painted detailing.
 
THE DEER
Life like bronze patina and crisp casting with fantastic detail
 
 The base is 33 1/2 inches long, 25 inches tall and 6 ½ inches wide and weighing almost 30 kg
Condition:
Complete and in original condition.
