Painting of Ann Bell by Betsy Westendorp (b. 1927) Oil on Slate 1971, signed by the artist to the lower right Frame measures 66 x 81 cm Ann was nanny to King Juan Carlos' children, Infantas Christina & Elena, and Prince Felipe, now King of Spain. She was employed just before Queen Sophia gave birth to Felipe and stayed with the family for over eight years. She attended the Proclamation of Juan Carlos in 1975 standing next to General Franco, holding the hand of Prince Felipe. The portrait was painted by Betsy Westendorp whilst she was painting the Royal children, based in Madrid at the time. Set behind non-reflective glass in original gilt frame. Some little wear to frame
