POP CULTURE is a vibrant colourful screen print from a limited edition run of 60, 2009 from Londons, Hang Up Gallery. Kolaj as the new medium is called, this hard-to-find limited edition print and originals from the leading artists in this scene are not often available to the market.

In this relentless digital age Daws draws on the timeless skills of decoupage, Kurt Schwitters 1930, and other 1970s POP artists Richard Hamilton and Jasper Johns.

A sophisticated talking piece.

Mocking, mimicking and worshipping the cult society that society idolises, also satirising the clinical, surgical lengths to which a growing number of celebrities take their obsessive compulsion to alter their physical self.

POP CULTURE Perspective, in this relentlessly digital age, old-school style, creates a 'real-life' experience.

The resulting work is a series of sexy, glossy objects, at once mocking, mimicking and worshipping the cult society they are idolising, also satirising the clinical, surgical lengths to which a growing number of celebrities take their obsessive compulsion to alter their physical self.

Daws warped view of the world of fashion, status and advertising via his ongoing series of compelling contemporary mementos of modern life. He utilises anything at his disposal – he cuts and paints on a number of surfaces. Culling fragments of pop culture, fashion and art history, Daws' obsessive nature to critique and de-construct objects, results in cut up magazines, and paintings on canvas and glass pieces.

This nearly unique, collage art excites conversation when displayed.

His work has been exhibited extensively in exhibitions such as “The Impossible Heap” at Galerie8 London, The Santorini Bienalle 2012, The Other Art Fair at the Barge House in Southbank, London, and “Paper” at Pertwee Anderson & Gold gallery in 2011, among others.

Daw’s work has been featured in publications such as Cut & Paste (21st Century Collage), published by Lawrence King Publishing, London, and numerous online Publications.
