Carved Wooden Vesta Case, c.1880–1910 A small, hand-carved wooden vesta case with sliding lid and floral decoration in relief. The lid slides to reveal a compartment for matches and an integral striker. The case measures approximately 7.5 cm long, 3.5 cm wide, and 2 cm deep. Constructed from a fine-grained hardwood, likely fruitwood or similar. The surface shows a warm patina from age and use, with an age-related split across the lid. A charming and tactile example of late Victorian to early Edwardian personal effects.
