Description
A fine-quality Victorian porcelain vase by Davenport of Longport, Staffordshire, dating to around 1880.
Square in form with tapering sides, the piece is richly decorated in the classic Imari palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilding, with elaborate floral and geometric motifs framed in gilt borders.
The design showcases the distinctive Japanese-inspired style so popular in the period, executed with precision and flair.
The interior rim is similarly embellished, showing attention to detail typical of Davenport’s work.
In good condition for its age, with only minor wear to the gilding.
A decorative and collectable piece from one of Staffordshire’s most respected potteries.
Dimensions: 8.5 cm high, 8.5 cm wide at the rim.
