Description
A charming small brass vase, likely dating from the mid-20th century, made in India and marked to the underside.
This decorative piece features a traditional flared and scalloped rim above a baluster-shaped body and narrow stem.
The surface is engraved with simple foliate and stylised motifs, typical of Indian brassware made for export in the 1950s–70s.
There is some age-related tarnish and wear to the surface, but the vase retains a pleasing patina.
The base bears an inscribed mark reading “INDIA” along with a partially legible manufacturer’s name.
A modest and decorative piece, ideal for a small shelf or display.
Dimensions: 5.5 x 5.5 x 15 (height)
Condition: Surface wear and tarnish consistent with age; structurally sound
Origin: India
Date: c.1950s–70s
