Description
A decorative late 19th to early 20th century brass wall pocket, likely influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement.
Of elongated conical form, it is finely worked in relief with a figure in medieval dress, typical of the period’s fascination with historic and romantic motifs.
Fitted with a small hanging ring to the top, it would originally have been used to display fresh or dried flowers, or perhaps herbs.
The brass has developed a good natural colour and patina over time.
Some minor dents and surface marks are present, consistent with age and handling.
Dimensions: 30 cm high, 7.5 cm wide, 6 cm deep.
