Description

Early 20th Century English Bronze Ship’s Bell
A solid and well-proportioned English bronze ship’s bell, dating to the early 20th century, likely circa 1910–1930.
Crafted in heavy bronze with a classic flared profile and gently stepped moulding, it retains its original iron clapper and chain with pull handle.
The bell shows a pleasing patina consistent with age and outdoor maritime use, with scattered surface marks and light oxidisation to the ironwork, particularly the suspension loop and clanger.
The interior bears an aged reddish protective coating typical of marine bells, while the top is fitted with a sturdy bracket and eyelet for hanging.
It produces a strong, resonant ring—clear and authoritative.

• Origin: England
• Date: Early 20th Century (c.1910–30)
• Material: Cast bronze with iron fittings
• Dimensions: 28 cm (height) x 24.5 cm (diameter)
• Condition: Structurally sound with no cracks or repairs.
Weathered patina and surface wear consistent with age.
Clanger appears original and functions well.
A fine decorative and functional piece, ideal for maritime collectors, nautical interiors, or as a statement garden or porch bell.
