A stunning pair of antique hand-painted porcelain plaques, each finely detailed with a portrait of an old sailor smoking a pipe.
These beautifully crafted miniatures are set in solid 9ct gold surrounds with attached loops, making them suitable for use as pendants, watch chain fobs, or decorative medallions.

Period: Late 19th / Early 20th Century
Material: Porcelain plaques, hand-painted, with 9ct gold surrounds and suspension loops
Depiction: Two maritime-themed portraits featuring elderly sailors with bushy white beards, wearing traditional seafarers’ attire and smoking pipes
Hallmarks: Stamped "9ct" on the suspension loops, confirming solid 9ct gold mounts
Condition: The porcelain is in excellent antique condition with no visible cracks or major chips
The hand-painted surfaces remain vibrant and detailed
The gold frames show minor age-related wear, with some light surface marks
The reverse of the plaques has some age-related discolouration, typical for antique porcelain
