Antique Chinese Rootwood Carving – Boat with Figures – Late Qing / Republic Era Antique Chinese carved rootwood sculpture depicting a group of figures in a boat. Finely detailed with eight individuals in traditional attire, including one rowing at the front and others seated beneath carved foliage at the rear. Carved from a single piece of natural rootwood, likely boxwood or camphor. The curved form of the boat follows the organic shape of the wood. Attractive warm patina and fine detailing throughout. Minor age-related wear and small areas of old damage to the carving as shown.
