Of demi-lune form, the hinged glazed lid opens to reveal a velvet-lined interior — ideal for the display of jewellery or objets d'art. The shaped frieze is carved with bold acanthus leaf detail, raised on elegantly scrolled cabriole legs with square blocks and shell feet, joined by shaped stretchers. Retaining its original glass and red velvet lining. A refined and charming piece from the Victorian period, suitable for a bedroom, dressing room or drawing room setting.
