Description

Royal Worcester Exhibition Vase, 1884 – A.B. Daniell & Son A finely modelled Royal Worcester porcelain vase, dated 1884, with sculptural dolphin-form handle and classical mask heads to each side. The body is decorated with raised oval plaques featuring cherubic figures, framed with ornate gilded scrollwork. Additional acanthus and anthemion motifs enhance the classical style, and the vase stands on a fluted circular foot with gilt detail. Fully marked to the underside with the Royal Worcester green factory stamp and date code for 1884. Also bearing the red retailer's mark for A.B. Daniell & Son of Wigmore Street, London – a known supplier of exhibition-standard wares during the late Victorian period. In good condition. Gilding remains clean, with light rubbing in places. No chips, cracks or repairs. Dimensions: Height: 26.5 cm Width: 19 cm Depth: 11 cm A good example of late 19th-century Worcester porcelain with decorative and collector interest.
