Antique Edwardian Brass Fireplace Fender & Matching Fire Irons – Reg. Design 1905 A fine Edwardian brass fireplace set comprising fender, three fire irons, a matching poker rest, and fire iron stand — all of matching design and dating to the early 20th century. The fender is cast with a neoclassical swag and mask motif and bears a Registered Design number 464428, dating it to the year 1905. The three fire irons — tongs, shovel, and poker — are unusually well-matched and of the same design family, with square-section shafts and shaped handles. The shovel has a broad, shaped pan, and the poker retains its original turned wooden handle. Also included is a matching brass poker rest and a fire iron stand with shaped support arms and cast detail to the base. The set has been recently polished and presents very well. The set has been sympathetically cleaned. An unusual and well-preserved Edwardian fireplace ensemble, seldom seen complete.
