Early 20th Century French Cherub Light with Vaseline Glass Shade Description: A decorative French ceiling light, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900–1920. The cast metal cherub is suspended from a twisted stem with ribbon motif and retains a later applied gilt finish. Fitted with an attractive pressed vaseline glass shade of bell form, featuring opalescent tones, ribbed detailing and beaded decoration, typical of late Victorian and Edwardian glasswork. The fitting hangs from a fabric-covered drop cord (covering likely later). A charming period piece, rewired and ready to install.
