Victorian Bride – Oil on Canvas by Beatrice Offor (British, 1864–1920) A signed and dated oil painting by the well-regarded British artist Beatrice Offor (1864–1920), known for her evocative portraits of women. This example, dated 1887 and signed B.O. 87 to the lower right, depicts a young bride standing in a wooded landscape, holding a parasol and posy of pink roses. Her white lace dress, gold necklace and parasol are rendered with delicate attention to period detail. Oil on canvas. Condition report: Significant tear to the right-hand side of the canvas, with loss to the paint layer as shown. An old patch repair is visible to the reverse.
