Mid-19th Century Grainger Worcester Porcelain Tankard – Rose Pompadour Ground A fine mid-19th century English porcelain tankard, attributed to Grainger’s Worcester, c.1850–1860. The tankard is decorated with a rich rose pompadour ground and a finely painted floral reserve within ornate gilt scroll framing. The scroll-moulded handle is highlighted with gilded accents, and gilt bands encircle the rim and foot. Unmarked to the base, as is typical for many Grainger pieces of this period. Dimensions: Height: 10 cm Diameter: 10 cm Width including handle: 13.5 cm Condition: In good antique condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Light surface wear to the pink ground and minor rubbing to the gilding, commensurate with age. A decorative and well-painted piece of early Victorian Worcester porcelain.
