Royal Worcester ‘American Pintail’ by Ronald van Ruyckevelt, 1970 A finely detailed porcelain model of an American Pintail (Dafila acuta), produced by Royal Worcester and modelled by acclaimed sculptor Ronald van Ruyckevelt. Dated 1970 and numbered 295 to the base. The bird is shown with wings extended in an alert posture, naturalistically painted in soft browns with vibrant green and rust detailing beneath the wings. Raised on a sculpted naturalistic base and presented on the original veneered wood plinth. Fully marked to the underside with factory stamp, edition number, and artist signature. Dimensions: Height: 33 cm Width: 34 cm Depth: 16 cm Condition: Very good overall. One claw tip with a very, very minor loss (approximately 3mm), scarcely noticeable. No other damage or restoration. A fine and expressive composition from Royal Worcester’s 20th-century wildlife series, capturing movement and poise with precision and artistry.
