Large Capodimonte Porcelain Figurine – Pope Paul VI, Holy Year 1975 – Signed Corti, Limited Edition Italy, circa 1975 A remarkable large-scale Capodimonte porcelain sculpture commemorating the Holy Year 1975, featuring Pope Paul VI blessing a group of five children representing different cultures and ethnicities—a powerful symbol of global unity and compassion. This finely modelled and hand-painted composition is signed by Capodimonte artist Corti, and limited to an edition of just 200 pieces, with this example being No. 22. It bears the traditional Capodimonte crowned "N" mark to the reverse. Raised on a stepped marble-effect base with detailed scrolled borders and mounted on a polished wooden plinth with a gilt title plaque. The Pope is shown in full ecclesiastical robes, rendered with exceptional detail, accompanied by five children in traditional attire from around the world. A poignant and decorative piece of religious art with significant collector interest.
