Description

Mid 19th Century French Porcelain Mantel Clock – Hand Painted Floral Decoration A French porcelain mantel clock dating from the mid-19th century. The arched case is finely painted with floral reserves on a cobalt blue and white ground, with gilt scrollwork throughout. Raised on a shaped base with moulded acanthus and shell ornament. The silvered dial has two winding holes and sits within a cast brass bezel. The clock is fitted with a silk suspension movement striking on a bell. The back cover opens to reveal the mechanism, which ticks when handled but has not been serviced. Dimensions: Height: 47 cm Width: 27 cm Depth: 13 cm Condition: Good decorative order. The porcelain case is sound with no visible cracks or chips. Some minor wear to gilding. Movement is working quite happily in the showroom, though we do not guarantee the movement
