Description

The Works of Charles Lamb – Three Volumes, 1868 A set of three volumes from The Complete Correspondence and Works of Charles Lamb, with an introductory essay by George Augustus Sala. Published in London by E. Moxon & Co., Dover Street, 1868. Uniformly bound in full calf with richly gilt-tooled spines, raised bands, red and green morocco title labels, gilt borders to the boards, and marbled edges and endpapers. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece of Charles and Mary Lamb. This set comprises Volumes I, II, and IV (of four). Each volume measures approx. 13 × 18.5 cm. Condition: Wear and rubbing to bindings, with scuffs and marks to covers and some weakening to joints. Occasional foxing and toning to pages. A musky/damp odour is present from previous storage. Marbled endpapers and edges remain bright, and the bindings, though worn, still present attractively on the shelf.
