Fine Vintage Pair of French Empire Style Table Lamps A very fine pair of French Empire style table lamps, each with a gilt brass ormolu base cast with dolphin and acanthus decoration, rising to a tapering onyx column and brass switched lamp holder (BC fitting). The lamps come with their original hand-made silk shades, in a soft gold tone. The shades are beautifully made, but do show some light staining and signs of age. They remain very presentable and in keeping with the lamps’ vintage character. Both lamps (with the shades) measure 40 x 40 x 77(height) cm Condition: Fully working wiring with gold flex. The brass has some age-related marks and speckling, consistent with use and adding to the character of the lamps. Shades with some staining, but usable and original to the lamps. A decorative and impressive pair of lamps with real presence.
