19th Century French Kingwood & Ormolu Jardinière with Sèvres Style Plaque A fine quality 19th century French kingwood jardinière of shaped form, mounted throughout with richly cast ormolu mounts. The hinged lid is set with a hand-painted Sèvres-style porcelain plaque depicting floral decoration on a bleu céleste ground, framed within a pierced gilt bronze border. The kingwood top is veneered in a chevron pattern and edged with an ormolu gallery. The interior retains the original lead liner, consistent with its use as a planter. Raised on elegant cabriole legs with ormolu mounts to the knees and sabots to the feet. Good colour and patina. Structurally sound.
