Description

Fine Antique Silver and Cut Glass Inkwell c.1916 A handsome and well-proportioned antique inkwell of good weight, featuring a finely cut glass body and a silver-mounted collar with hinged lid. The lid is inset with a mottled panel bordered by a delicate silver rim, lending an understated touch of refinement. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1916, with maker’s mark C&N for Cohen & Nathan. The glass body is beautifully made, with deep diamond-cut decoration to the base and lower sides, and smooth chamfered panels above creating a clear optical play of light. The hinged silver lid closes neatly and remains well fitted. Measures 8 x 8 x 9 (height) cm Good antique condition. Minor nibbles to the glass and light age-related wear to the silver consistent with use. Hinge and lid secure.
