Description

Antique Hinks & Son’s Brass Oil Lamp Font c.1890 A fine quality late Victorian brass oil lamp font with its original Hinks & Son’s patent duplex burner, dating to around 1890–1900. The burner retains both thumb wheels, each decorated with the maker’s distinctive ship trade mark—the well-known Hinks galleon emblem signifying authenticity and quality. The body is formed in heavy spun brass of rounded shape with a screw filler cap and crimped seam, typical of Hinks manufacture. A clean, well-proportioned example suitable for restoration or display. Dimensions: 13 × 13 × 16 cm (height) Condition: Good antique condition overall. A few small dinks and light surface marks to the brass consistent with age and use. Some tarnish and minor discolouration to the burner crown, as shown. Untested and offered as a decorative collector’s piece.
