Victorian Sterling Silver Albert Watch Chain with Football Medal Fob and Key English, Birmingham 1896, C.E.S. A fine and substantial late Victorian gentleman’s watch Albert chain in sterling silver, featuring an ornate football-themed fob and double-ended pocket watch key. The heavy curb link chain is fitted with a T-bar, part-brass swivel clasp, and a pierced silver fob medal decorated with a crowned football motif within a laurel wreath. The reverse of the fob is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, maker C.E.S. (Charles Edwin Solomon), a known 19th-century Birmingham silversmith. Length: 38 cm Weight: 62.0 grams Condition: Good antique condition, age-appropriate wear throughout. Some tarnish and patina to the chain and key; the clasp is part-brass and functions well.
