Royal Crown Derby Miniature Silver Topped Salt Vase c.1890

Royal Crown Derby Imari Pattern Salt with Silver Rim, c.1890 A fine quality miniature salt from Royal Crown Derby, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890. The porcelain is beautifully decorated in the traditional Imari palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt, with hand-painted and gilded details throughout. The piece is mounted with a sterling silver rim, hallmarked (maker's mark "J.W.") though the assay mark is rubbed and partially indistinct. Underside with printed Royal Crown Derby mark and pattern number 383. Condition: Very good overall. No chips, cracks or repairs. Gilding remains bright with only minimal wear. Hallmark to the silver rim shows wear, with some elements rubbed. Dimensions: Height: 4 cm Diameter: 5 cm
