Description

Early 20th Century German Oak Mantel Clock by Badische Uhrenfabrik (c.1910) A well-proportioned antique mantel clock, manufactured in Germany by the Badische Uhrenfabrik around 1910. Crafted in solid oak, the case is attractively detailed with fluted columns, a stepped pediment with carved ornament, and roundel cut-outs. The arched brass dial plate features a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and decorative gilt spandrels, centred by a brass dial. Fitted with an 8-day movement, the clock strikes the hours and half hours on a coiled gong. The movement bears the stamped mark of Badische and the serial number 53572. Access is provided via glazed front and rear doors. The original pendulum and gong are present. Dimensions: Height: 38.5 cm Width: 26 cm Depth: 16 cm Condition: In good condition commensurate with age. Minor wear and blemishes to the case consistent with use. Mechanism appears complete, but untested for timekeeping accuracy.
