Fine Heavy Cut Crystal Drinks Decanter We are pleased to offer an unusually heavy and finely made crystal decanter, one of the heaviest we have handled in many years of trading. The quality of the cutting is evident throughout, with a long, tapering neck leading to a baluster-formed bowl, decorated with hand-cut leaves and engraved floral motifs. The workmanship is refined and characteristic of mid-20th-century crystal at its best. The underside is finished with an elegant star-cut, while the neck carries well-executed thumb-cuts that give a pleasing grip in the hand. The original stopper is attractively shaped with sliced thumb-cut facets, well matched to the body. A very good piece of its type, clearly made to a high standard and likely an expensive item when first purchased. Exceptionally heavy for its size, with a reassuring feel in the hand.
