Description
Georgian Adam Style Copper and Brass Samovar, England, circa 1790
An elegant late 18th-century Georgian samovar in the neoclassical Adam style, finely crafted in copper with contrasting brass mounts. The urn-shaped body stands on a stepped square base and features classical brass ring handles, a domed lid with pierced fretwork and brass finial, and a well-formed spout with turned ebony handle.
The interior retains its original tinned lining and central chimney insert, allowing for traditional heating via charcoal or hot coals. A charming and decorative piece of Georgian domestic metalwork, ideal as a display object or focal point in a period interior.
Offered in good condition commensurate with age. Light wear, small surface dinks to the body. Some leakage to the tap area when filled. Cleaned and polished, structurally sound, and complete.
