Antique Chinese Canton Famille Rose Porcelain Tea Pot c.1880 A fine antique Chinese porcelain tea pot, dating from around 1880, beautifully hand-painted in the Canton famille rose palette. The decoration features alternating panels depicting courtly figures in garden interiors and birds among flowering peonies, all enclosed within elaborate gilt and foliate scrollwork borders with butterflies and floral motifs. The painting is detailed and vibrant, typical of late Qing export porcelain, with careful attention to facial expression, costume, and natural detail. The design extends across the entire surface, including the shoulder and lid, where further floral panels and small portrait medallions appear. The pot retains its original metal and woven rattan handle and presents attractively on display. Dimensions: 16 x 12 x 15 (height) cm Good antique condition. Unmarked to the underside. Small old nibbles to the lid rim and minor surface wear consistent with age and use.
