Antique 1897 Hand Painted Porcelain Plate – Mallard Duck in Flight – Signed E.D. – Bishop & Stonier Description: A fine antique English hand-painted porcelain cabinet plate, dated 1897 and signed by the artist E.D. to the lower right. The plate features a beautifully detailed image of a mallard duck in flight over reeds and wildflowers, finely executed in naturalistic tones. The painting is of high quality, with particular attention given to the plumage and landscape. Gilt rim. The reverse bears the green caduceus mark used by Powell, Bishop & Stonier, Staffordshire potters active in the late 19th century. Fitted with pierced loops and hanging cord for wall display. Condition: Very good antique condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Minor wear to gilding in line with age.
