Antique Analytical Balance Scale by Baird & Tatlock, c.1940s A fine quality mid-20th century analytical balance scale housed in a glazed mahogany case. Made by Baird & Tatlock (London) Ltd., 14–17 Saint Cross Street, London EC1, England — renowned scientific instrument makers active in the early to mid 20th century. This example is labelled no. 1815 and features a precision brass mechanism with adjustable dial, counterweights and twin pans. Set within a glazed case with glass panels to all sides and top, allowing full visibility of the balance in use. Raised on adjustable brass feet for levelling. Condition: Good overall condition. Some signs of age and use, including oxidisation to the brass pans and light wear to the wooden case. One small weight appears to be missing and the left pan may require re-securing or minor adjustment. Sold as seen for restoration or display. Dimensions: 40 cm wide x 22 cm deep x 38.5 cm high
