Description
Small Japanese stoneware dish, probably from the Mino kilns, Edo period (18th–19th century).
Decorated in the Oribe manner with free iron-oxide brushwork and a central roundel picked out with a ring of green copper glaze on a soft grey-white glaze ground.
The underside with recessed unglazed base within a narrow glazed foot.
Diameter: 7 cm Height: 1.5 cm
Condition: Several rim chips and nibbles, one with an old filler repair; minor firing imperfections and surface wear consistent with age.
