Description

Antique Chinese Silk Embroidery Panel c.1900 Late Qing Dynasty, China Offered for sale is a finely worked Chinese silk embroidery panel dating to the late Qing period, circa 1880–1910. The panel is embroidered in coloured silks on a teal-blue silk ground, depicting butterflies among flowering branches—motifs traditionally symbolising joy, harmony and renewal. This piece was likely cut from a larger robe or decorative textile and is now attractively mounted on patterned silk brocade and presented behind glass in a later giltwood frame. Frame dimensions: 78 cm high x 40 cm wide Condition: Good condition. The silk retains vibrant colour and detail. Minor age-related wear to the mount and frame, as shown. A decorative and well-preserved example of late Qing silkwork, ideal for collector or interior display.
