Description

Early 19th Century English Porcelain Plate – Hand-Painted Floral Panels with Gilt and Cobalt Blue Ground An attractive early 19th-century English porcelain plate, finely decorated with five hand-painted floral reserves separated by deep cobalt blue panels and enriched with gilt scrollwork. The central roundel features a stylised gilt flowerhead within a neoclassical framework. Unmarked to the reverse, as typical of the period, and likely produced by a Staffordshire or Derbyshire maker, circa 1820. Diameter: 22 cm Condition: Good decorative order. One old hairline visible to the reverse, not structurally significant. Some wear to gilding and surface speckling consistent with age. A decorative and well-executed example of Regency-period English porcelain.
