Description
(Will be posted from Ireland - EU)
Hussey-Dawson began manufacturing powder compacts in the 1930s under the trademark Gwenda. Located in Birmingham, England, they were famous for their beautiful enamel & foil compacts. These pieces with the original box are becoming difficult to find.
Part of stock from an old gift shop - so although showing signs of some age related wear this item is "New" in the original box and has never been used.
Art Deco compact marked to the interior with the trade name Gwenda 'Tap flap' made in England. The back is black enamel whilst the lid has a striking image of two Parrots with forest background.
The compact was designed to take loose powder.
Condition: Very good - minor wear and small spots of rust caused by time - colours still vivid - powder puff, instructions & box as new - see all images.
Dimensions:
2 5/8" X 2 5/8" (Square)
A lovely 1930's compact which will be great for any collector of vintage accessories.
