1797 Cartwheel Penny Vesta Case - Silver plated Mount? - Circa 1890's

No hallmarks so assumed silverplate.

Rare and good quality c. 1890 vesta case made from an original 1797 George III Cartwheel penny in a silverplate mount with a steel striker. The lid opens and shuts firmly with a clip catch. Striker on the bottom with a suspension ring on the top.

Condition: Excellent condition - good detail in the coin - no damage and great patina - see all images.

Dimensions:
1 5/8" diameter x 3/8" thick

A great quality vesta case which are now becoming difficult to find in such good condition and would be an addition to any collection.
