3 x Ryuko Tsutaya watercolours - Japanese people in traditional dress - signed

Ryuko tsutaya (1868-1933) born in Hirosaki, Aomori prefecture, Japan. His original personal name is Kosaku.

Tsutaya studied painting under Kogyo Terasaki and then went on to graduate from Tokyo academy of fine arts.

The watercolours depict a woman carrying a bucket, a street vendor with two baskets of flowers and a woman carrying a child on her back.

Condition: framed and glazed - the colours appear muted but not faded - signed to bottom right corner, the name does appear to have faded a little - the frame is wooden with the surface in red with gold and black flecks - the sides are black - the frame has slight wear.

Dimensions:
Visible sheet - 12 1/2" high x 6 1/4" wide
Frame - 13 3/8" high x 7" wide x 3/8" deep moulding.

Three detailed and interesting watercolours by a popular Japanese artist which appear to be in the original frames.
