Description

Paul Insect PINS
Wire Views by PINs is a very early screen print published by PoW  Banksys Publisher. It is a finely detailed graf concept and incorporates Insects trademark skull, cleverly embedded within the picture.

Clever composition where laced wire forms eyes for skulls on the arm area. PINS early trade mark of Skulls as exemplified by his designed POW Holographic tissue paper.

Bought in 2008 direct from Pictures On Walls. It has been stored in a dry and flat for many years.

Other early PINs work is available in this auction

ABOUT the ART and the ARTIST

Bought in 2008 direct from Pictures On Walls. Wire views has been stored in a dry and flat for many years.

Wire Views is not often seen as many collectors hold onto early POW pieces as the association with Banksys Publishers.

PAUL INSECT hand pulls vibrant colours into the screen print and details with barbed and straight wire adding a homage

Insect’s first big break arrived in 2007, when Damien Hirst reportedly bought out the artist’s entire solo show before it even opened at London’s Lazarides Gallery. Hirst is not alone in his fandom—Insect has exhibited at a number of galleries in New York and London,

His work was included in Banksy’s 2015 pop-up exhibition “Dismaland” and Roger Gastman’s 2018 traveling street art survey “Beyond the Streets.”

Paul Insect’s in street raw graf style has now been superseded by new mediums with a shift from raw street graph to his use of bright, multi-textured collages, feature cropped portraits, patterned colour fields, benday dots, and decorative elements such as diamond dust and glitter.
