ABOUT the ART and the ARTIST

Very early Insect from Pictures on Walls (POW) 2003 with an example of his early signature

Colourful and dystopian, Insect even appears in the picture himself (the spider bottom right)

Highly collectable and in the established street graf rising market

Bought in 2003 direct from Pictures On Walls. It has been stored in a dry, heated, smoke free area for many years.

Insect was part of the street graf crew Insect Reprise ratifying walls in south London and Shoreditch areas.

Now one of the nations most successful street artists since publishing at POW.

Insect’s first big break arrived in 2007, when Damien Hirst reportedly bought out the artist’s entire solo show before it even opened at London’s Lazarides Gallery. Hirst is not alone in his fandom—Insect has exhibited at a number of galleries in New York and London,

His work was included in Banksy’s 2015 pop-up exhibition “Dismaland” and Roger Gastman’s 2018 traveling street art survey “Beyond the Streets.”

Paul Insect’s in street raw graf style has now been superseded by new mediums with a shift from raw street graf to his use of bright, multi-textured collages, feature cropped portraits, patterned colour fields, benday dots, and decorative elements such as diamond dust and glitter.

A collectors piece with POW provenance.
