Description

Pair of Japanese Blue and White Pot Stands – Meiji Period
A pair of small Japanese porcelain pot stands, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (Meiji period, circa 1880–1910).
Each is hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a scrolling border around the top rim and simple brushwork to the outer sides.
The glaze has a soft greyish tone, with minor kiln speckling and small firing imperfections consistent with traditional production methods.
A central drainage hole suggests they were originally intended as stands for small planters or cache pots.

Origin: Japan

Date: Circa 1880–1910

Material: Porcelain

Decoration: Underglaze cobalt blue

Condition: Good antique condition.
No chips, cracks or repairs.
Minor kiln blemishes as expected for age.
A functional and modest example of Meiji-period porcelain.
