AD 253–268) A bronze provincial coin struck during the reign of Emperor Gallienus (Publius Licinius Egnatius Gallienus), issued at Nicomedia in Bithynia, Asia Minor. Obverse: Radiate and draped bust of Gallienus facing right. Greek legend around, partially visible: ΑΥΤ Κ Π ΛΙΚ ΓΑΛΛΙΗΝΟC CΕΒ (Imperator Caesar Publius Licinius Gallienus Augustus). Reverse: Three prize urns each flanked by palm branches, symbolic of victory games or civic honours. Greek inscription surrounding, worn but partly legible.
