Description

Cased Set of Six Solid Silver Teaspoons – Chester 1941, Thomas Edgar Hughes A complete set of six solid silver teaspoons, fully hallmarked for Chester 1941. Made by Thomas Edgar Hughes. Each spoon measures 11 cm and weighs approximately 11.7 grams, giving a total silver weight of 70.2 grams. Classic shell-ended design with tapering stems. The hallmarks are clear and well-struck. Offered in good overall condition with light surface wear and some tarnish, particularly to the bowls, consistent with age. Presented in the original fitted case, which shows expected wear to the exterior and interior lining. A practical and attractive wartime silver set from the declining years of the Chester Assay Office.
