Description

Antique Solid Silver Pin Cushion Box – Birmingham 1912 An attractive Edwardian silver pin cushion box, of rectangular form raised on four cabriole legs and decorated with a shaped and engine-turned lid. The box retains its original green velvet lining. Hallmarked to the front for Birmingham, 1912, the maker's mark appears to be that of S Blanckensee & Son Ltd (though partly rubbed). The interior retains its original velvet lining, now showing wear and discolouration commensurate with age and use. The box itself shows surface wear, with several small dinks and light dents, as expected from a piece of this age. Hinged lid opens and closes soundly. Maker: Blanckensee & Son Ltd (likely, rubbed) Assay: Birmingham, 1912 Dimensions: 9.5 × 6.5 × 4 cm Weight: 66.4 grams (total, including lining) Offered in fair antique condition, a charming and collectable silver piece with period character.
