Marti, Paris – c.1860 A striking High Victorian mantel clock dating to around 1860, featuring a fine architectural black marble case in the Palladian style. The case is accented with variegated rouge marble column supports and elegant gilt floral and foliate inlay, adding both richness and formality to the overall design. The clock has a brass bezel enclosing a clean white enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. The dial has two winding holes and bears a few old but stable hairlines consistent with age. The high-quality 8-day movement is by the renowned maker F.
